The Quick Menu is an interface designed for Shadow that allows you to adjust your settings and connect new devices without having to return to the launcher. This article is here to help you understand the uses and benefits of this feature.
📝Note: The Quick Menu is only available on Windows and macOS applications. Linux, the Shadow Ghost, and the Shadow Box will receive an update with the Quick Menu in the future.
To open the Quick Menu, log into the Shadow launcher, then Start Shadow.
Once Shadow starts, click the Shadow logo located at the top of the screen, or press the Quick Menu shortcut:
- For Windows: ALT + WIN + O
- For macOS: ALT + CMD + O

Streaming
Allocated bandwidth allows you to choose how much data Shadow can use (from 5 - 70Mb/s). Use the slider or enter a number to change the bandwidth. For tips on changing your bandwidth, see how to test your connection.
Low bandwidth mode is recommended for connections with download speeds of lower than 15Mb/s. See our article on using low bandwidth mode (H.265).
Display
Display resolution lets you choose the size (or resolution) Shadow will stream. Shadow will automatically suggest a popular display resolution for you, or, you can click Change Resolution to customize your own.
Shadow supports the following resolution and refresh rates:
- 1080p resolutions up to 144Hz
- 4k resolutions up to 60Hz
If your resolution is higher than 1080p, choose a 60Hz refresh rate. Experiences using 4K resolutions may vary depending on your device or connection.
Controllers
Use the Controllers tab to see which of your controllers are connected to your Shadow. For more help, see how to connect a controller.
Use the checkbox at the bottom to help games detect your Playstation controller.
Microphone
If you've connected a microphone to your computer, check the box next to Enable microphone, then choose your microphone from the Quick Menu. Shadow may detect your microphone automatically in a pop-up window. See how to connect a microphone to Shadow for more information.

USB Peripherals
If you've enabled USB Peripherals, the Quick Menu allows you to manage the USB devices connected to your Windows or macOS or computer. For help enabling USB Peripherals, see our article on how to add USB devices on Shadow.
Select the USB device you'd like to connect to Shadow from the Quick Menu. See the example below for reference.
Help

Other Features & Settings
Usage Stats
The Quick Menu includes the Usage Stats, designed to help you monitor your Shadow's performance. For more information, see how to understand the Shadow Usage Statistics.
Dashboard Buttons
Located at the bottom of the Quick Menu, these buttons can help you:
Enter or exit full screen | Choose to display Shadow in full screen or windowed mode. | |
Lock or unlock cursor | Choose to display Shadow full screen or view a smaller window. Shadow locks the mouse automatically in full screen. |

Restart streaming | Stops and starts Shadow's stream. Best used after changing Shadow's settings. |
