As with a classic computer, it's possible to use a microphone when using Shadow. However, it's also possible that your microphone experiences malfunctions and the cause may vary depending on how you access Shadow.
The microphone via the Windows and MacOS application
All types of microphones are recognised by the Windows application, whether they are jack, USB or via a shell with a built-in microphone.
To do this, first make sure to enable the "Activate the microphone" option in the application settings.Via jack, the microphones are recognised natively, just think to check if the microphone is identified in the sound settings of Windows via the menu "Sound" accessible by right-clicking on the speaker icon at the bottom to right of the Windows taskbar. Regarding the microphones via USB, the "USB remote" function also allows you to connect your microphone to USB and enjoy the applications. Just remember to enable this option in the application settings. Once done, it is possible that your microphone is not recognised directly. To do so, go to the menu "USB device" accessible from the windowed mode of Shadow. Once your microphone identified and selected in this menu, it should be perfectly functional on your Shadow.
Regarding the MacOS application, it is possible to use the microphone built into your Mac or via jack by activating the option "activate the microphone". However, it is possible that most micro USB can still not work on the MacOS application. This is because the "USB Remote" function is not yet available on this application. Our developers work primarily on this function so that it will be implemented very soon.In some cases, you may experience crackling or sound bugs while recording or chatting with your friends on platforms such as Discord or Teamspeak or others. In this case, it is highly possible that your connection is the culprit. Check your upload speed is sufficient. We recommend a minimum of 5 Mb / s so that your microphone is operational.
