We're glad you've decided—or may decide—to join the future of cloud gaming. Once you've subscribed to Shadow, you'll receive a confirmation email. We'll send you another email once your Shadow is activated and ready for you to use.
Follow the steps in this article for help setting up your Shadow and tips.
📝 Note: To see activation estimates in your service area, check our website. If you've already preordered Shadow, head to your account page and click the My Orders tab to see when your Shadow will be ready.
Step 1: Download Shadow onto your devices
Shadow is available on devices with Windows, macOS, Android, iOS, and Ubuntu operating systems. Check our Hardware Requirements for more details.
If you're using the Shadow Ghost, continue to Getting Started with the Shadow Ghost.
To download Shadow:
Step 2: Log in and authenticate your device
Log in to the Shadow Launcher using the email and password you created for Shadow. If it's your first time logging in with this device, check your email and enter the authentication code.
To log in and authenticate your device:
- Open the Shadow Launcher.
- Enter your email and password into the application, then click Log In.
📝 Note: If you're having trouble logging in, check your email to confirm your Shadow has been activated. We'll send you an email once your Shadow has been activated.
- Check your email for an authentication code.
- Copy and paste the authentication code into the window or use your keyboard to enter the code manually.
- Click Submit or wait for Shadow to automatically authenticate your device.
Step 3: Set up your Shadow
You're moments away from streaming Shadow. Before you click Start, check out the other settings available in the Shadow Launcher and connect your USB devices. We've provided a list of articles below to help:

Why can't I log in to Shadow?
It's possible your Shadow has not been activated. We'll send you a confirmation email when your Shadow is activated and ready to go. Check your email's spam folder.
When does my subscription begin?
Your subscription begins the moment your Shadow is activated. You will not be charged until one month after your subscription begins. We'll do our best to tell you if there are any delays in advance.
Where is my authentication code?
Authentication emails may take up to 10 minutes to appear in your inbox. Check your spam/junk folder for any emails from Shadow and avoid requesting multiple codes at once.
If you haven't received an authentication email from Shadow in 20 minutes, contact Support.
I'm experiencing issues with Shadow. How do I fix this?
