Update NVIDIA drivers for Shadow

Updating your NVIDIA GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) drivers is a quick and easy way to resolve issues affecting your display, including your resolution or framerate. To update your NVIDIA GTX 1080 or Quadro P5000 drivers, use one of these two methods:

During this process, your screen resolution may change size or become distorted. This is normal since there are hardware changes in progress.

Warning: NVIDIA GeForce Experience is only compatible with GeForce GPUs. If you have an NVIDIA Quadro P5000, or you're not sure which GPU you have, follow the instructions for updating your drivers via the web.

  10. Restart your Shadow when finished.

Update NVIDIA drivers via GeForce Experience

GeForce Experience is a centralized console that lets you check for NVIDIA GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) driver updates. To check for updates using this method, install GeForce Experience on your Shadow (if it's not installed already) and use GeForce to check for updates. You will be required to create an account or log in to use GeForce Experience.

  1. Start Shadow.
    If required, log into Shadow.

  2. From your Shadow desktop, download and install GeForce Experience.

  3. When GeForce Experience is installed, open GeForce Experience.
For help locating this application, open your Start menu, then search for "GeForce Experience".

  4. Log in or create an account, then go to the Drivers tab on the top left.

  5. At the top-right corner of the screen, click Check for Updates.

  6. To install the latest updates, click Download. If a Download button does not appear, there are no updates available.

  7. Once the download is complete, click Quick Install to install the driver. If there are no updates available, you may finish these instructions.

  8. Once installation is complete, restart Shadow.

After you've completed the instructions above, your NVIDIA GPU will have the latest drivers installed.
